bobbi kristina has died. we will have much more on her troubled life in the public spotlight in just a moment. >> first, a deadly stabbing at a church in frederick county maryland. south of frederick near sugar loaf mountain. learning two people stabbed were a couple. one of them is dead. and we have knowledge that a suspect is in custody right now. we want to go straight to news 4s darcy spencer learning about the details of what exactly happened there. darcy. >> reporter: ericka we just got an update from the fred wreck count -- from the frederick county sheriff. a horrible story playing out in the county. a husband and wife both stabbed. the fortunate news is that a suspect is in custody. let's go to video we shot a short time ago. to show you this was in a very remote area here in frederick county. the facility is the anna counseling center part of the korean church as we're told.

two victims stabbed. a man and a wife. that man was pronounced dead on the scene. his wife was flown to shock trauma in baltimore. we're told she is in serious condition. the suspect as we have been reporting in custody. apparent lowly he had been staying at the center for five days. counseling and residential component to this facility. something happened there about 7:45 tonight during the service is happening at the time. police received two 911 calls. one of them from the suspect himself. >> he left the property said, i'm alone on the road waiting for police to arrest me. now that's what he said. made no other admissions that i know of. >> he was covered in blood? >> don't know that. don't know that. i can tell you the scene was very bloody. the deputies there had to work through a pretty bloody scene thai to try to provide first --

to try to provide first aid measures to the victims. >> reporter: the suspect is 30 years old. again from northern virginia. being questioned at this hour. police are still searching for the murder weapon and still searching for a motive for this killing. erica back to you. >> darcy, thank you. more breaking news this evening. bobbi kristina brown has died. her family announcing the news and thanking everyone for love and support over the past several months. her family says brown died today surrounded by loved ones. nbc's mark barker with her life and struggles. >> reporter: as the daughter of bobby brown and pop icon whitney houston, bobbi kristina brown was tlurhrust into the spotlight and intensified in february 2012 when houston drowned in a beverly hills bathtub. an a event parallel to january 31st, when the 21-year-old brown was discovered facedown and

unresponsive in a bathtub in her atlanta home. when paramedics arrived they found boyfriend nick gordon performing cpr. according to family friend, brown struggled to cope after her mother's passing. it was ruled an accident. but heart disease and cocaine use were listed as contributing factors. a january post on brown's twitter account read, miss you mommy so much. the tragic similarity of events so close to the anniversary of houston's death sparked questions. >> it is bizarre that the same type of incident would happen involving a mother and a daughter. >> reporter: brown underwent treatment at two atlanta hospitals and rehab facility. but never regained consciousness. her grandmother cissy houston said in april, brown suffered what doctors said was global and irreversible brain damage. police investigated circumstances in the case but not have revealed results or filed any charges. bobbi kristina's death comes as the the mystery surrounding her

passing lingers. mark barker, nbc news. >> a truck crashes into a woman inside her apartment sending her to the hospital and landing the driver behind bars. howard county police released these pictures. officers say the driver smashed into an elkridge apartment this morning. the driver then took off on foot but later returned to the scene. he now faces several charges including negligent driving. we are told the victim is in stable condition. a family tragedy, two brothers inseparable in life, sadly daniel and doug brown died during a swim in calvert county. now we are hearing from daniel's teenage son who somehow survived that fateful swim. news 4s derek ward on how the family is coping and leaning on one another. >> reporter: sunday afternoon. white caps off cove point. there is no searching now, waters are too rough. saturday searchers found daniel

brown. his brother doug is still out there somewhere. jayson brown is with family and friend. he has memories of his dad. >> he always brought the family together. it is good bring them all together at this time. >> reporter: jason was swimming with his father and uncle friday. >> the tide pool was out a little bit. we have to go back in. we started swimming back. we weren't making it, swimming in place. >> doug tried to swim and get help. >> i was staying with my dad. he was he just told me, told me he loved me. told me to go ahead. >> reporter: the last time he saw his father. the last time he saw his uncle. >> they were two peas in a pod. did lots together. >> reporter: being on the water was a big part of together time. both brothers were swimmers and family men. >> they loved their mother. their mother was central to their world and their kids. >> reporter: their mother remembers them as the best sons a mother could have kind to everyone. melissa and daniel were divorced but came together for the

children. what makes it sadder is the family suffered a loss off the waters a few years back. her father was lost when el toro sank. in 1993. >> i think life is cruel. cruel some times. >> the family perseveres with the memories of the good times and the bay. >> go there and remember them. >> reporter: memories of what two inseparable brothers meant to each other and each of them. >> my dad wanted everybody to be happy in the family. tried his hardest to make everybody happy. i just hope i can follow that. >> reporter: derek ward news 4. >> a growing memorial outside costa brava, the co-owner of the restaurant. people are comforting each other. leave candles and flowers. residents say costa brava was the pride of his life outside of the family. everyone we spoke to talked about his big personality and the special kinship they felt with him in this tight-knit

mechanicsville. two others were arrested. they are accused of being accomplices in the murder. >> police are trying to figure out who shot two men early this morning in prince george's county. they responded to a call about 1:30 on hubbard road in hyattsville. both men taken to the hospital. one is expected to survive. the other man has life threatening injuries. >> milwaukee, wisconsin remains on alert tonight after more sightings of a lion on the loose. and now we are learning a baby lion may be with her. wildlife officials were out all day with rifles and tranquilizer guns. they have been looking for the lions ever since this cell phone video surfaced last week. this morning, there were new sightings. officials say the is probably a wild mountain lion or mail order exotic pet. >> a whole bunch of smoke. looked lick a bomb went off. >> employees were not answer. five, six times. where are the stairs.

we were met with blank stares. >> learning more about the scary moments during this fire at skoz mow poll -- cosmopolitan hotel. the fire department less than a mile away firefighters arrived quickly. as you heard from the last guest. some say the hotel employees were not helpful evacuating the massive building. flames broke out on the 14th floor. the pool area yesterday. two people suffered just minor injuries. the u.s. government is getting ready to hit fiat chrysler with a big fine for failing to notify consumers about potentially dangerous car defects. officials expected to announce the $105 million fine tomorrow. fiat-chrysler will have to buy back some cars that were defective. the company will also have to offer incentives to owners. you can read more about that fine and hear fiat's response on nbc washington app. right now, president obama is in ethiopia on the second leg of his historic visit to africa.

he will be the first american president to address the african union. president obama took time out to have a little fun during his visit in kenya. mr. obama, here in this video, to the right of the singer dressed in white. showed off his moves during a state dinner in kenya. president obama danced along with members of an afro-pop group. >> well it was only her second day on the job but she performed like a seasoned pro. why this rookie local police officer is being hailed a hero tonight. >> dozens of vehicles tagged in one neighborhood. the possible crime connection to a disturbing case and a nearby community. and the desperate search continues tonight for two missing teenage boys. what crews have found near the area that they disappeared. >> "sports final" is minutes away. so worth the wait!

condolences are pouring in as news spreads of her death. oprah winfrey tweeted -- peace at last, #-bobbi kristina. lots of you sending well wishes on our facebook page. the houston family release aid statement saying brown died today surrounded by family. back in january she was found unresponsive in the bathtub of her atlanta home. brown any mother late whitney houston drowned in a hotel bathtub three years ago. sources close to the family tell nbc news that funeral plans for brown have not been set. new tonight. a small fishing boat belonging to two south florida teens has been found capsized in the ocean. but there still is no sign of the boys. they disappeared, fueling their boat. their family not giving up hope on finding them alive. and the frantic search. >> reporter: somber news off the florida coast after two days of

searching, a 19 foot fishing boat capsized near cape canaveral, the search continues for the two boys. >> our focus now is finding those boys. we have an awful lot of resources out here wecht will saturate the area. >> reporter: the boys last seen friday in jupiter filling up with $110 in gas. this morning, the family described the boys as strong fishermen who regularly went out on the watt r together. >> they have been through rough water, thin water, doesn't matter. >> their neighbor, football legend joe namath offering support, he and the family offering $100,000 reward for the boys' safe return. >> they're so fine, these two young fellows. we keep praying. >> austin's family says the boys were not allowed to leave the jupiter inlet so that's where the search started to. day they expand the the search area 30 nauticals out to sea and found the boat over 130 nautical

miles north. tonight the community is still praying that they might be found safe and brought back home. gadi schwartz, abc news. >> many of you have been following this story all day on the nbc washington app. a man killed after a, being attacked, a sex worker in west virginia may be responsible for other prostitute deaths in nevada and ohio. police say the sex worker shot 45-year-old neal falls in self defense at a home in charleston earlier this month. the two met online. investigators from the ohio area are sending a time to charleston to investigate a possible link with similar homicides there. police in a las vegas suburb are also investigating, whether falls was connected to a set of unsolved prostitute deaths. police are looking for more vehicle vandals in fairfax county. a viewer tipped us off to the story in centerville. the viewer says 30 vehicles were spray painted with graffiti.

talked to one of the owners. who woke up and found writing all over his car. >> i noticed there was some spray paint on my minivan. i decided to take a walk and see if any other vehicles were vandalized. i saw this one. and, that minivan right there which has a lot more. >> just last weekend seven cars and trucks were set on fire. in another fairfax county neighborhood. police did make a few arrests in that case. police say not clear if the cases are connected. someone is stealing stuff from cars in loreton and burke and it's important to remind everybody if you like it lock it. last sunday night there were 20 thefts along huntsman boulevard and coachman drive. all right cars were unlocked. police are reaching out to homeowners association and neighborhood watch groups. they say instead of hiding things in the trunk, take them out, lock your car, please lock your car.
